  egend has it that an ancient wager between the fabled 7 Sultans of Arabia and the powerful Genie opened the treasures of the earth to those skilled and courageous enough to seek them. The Sultans, beloved by their subjects, were held in high esteem as much for their exceptional strength and extraordinary skills as for their wisdom. They were blessed, too, with great treasures of gold and jewels, and were known over mountains and across seas for their prosperity and bountiful generosity. Now, with the spread of the conquering Empires of the North into Byzantine and Persia, there was much concern in the Sultans' kingdom as to the safety of their treasures. So they turned to the powerful Genie to protect their fortunes from the wicked designs of their foes.
 The Genie, famous for his magical powers, as well his fondness for a challenge, entered into a wager with the 7 Sultans. If he could protect their treasures from the mighty Empires, once the danger had passed, the 7 Sultans would share a portion of their wealth with all who could outwit them. For each of the seven days of the week, one of the Sultans would take on the challengers.
And so it came to pass that the Sultans ensconced themselves and their awesome treasuries within a mighty golden Citadel under the watchful eye and protection of the Genie. The danger passed and in good faith, the 7 Sultans honored their word. Centuries later, the wagers continue. The fabulous Citadel has opened its gates to all who wish to try their luck at winning a share of the 7 Sultans' fortune. Droves of people have come from afar to place their wagers with the Sultans and have walked away with treasures fit for a king.
